Established on 21st April 1970 by an enthusiastic band of Samskrit scholars and lovers of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

Comprehensive Knowledge Base

Samskrit is the greatest cultural heritage of India which reveals the true religion, philosophy, and culture of our nation. Apart from the Vedas, Upanishads, and great epics, Samskrit abounds in famous works of prose, poetry, and drama.

Comprehensive knowledge relating to diverse disciplines—including Social Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Astronomy, Astrology, and Geography—is available in Samskrit. In fact, there is no discipline that is not covered by the Samskrit language, which is the mother of many languages including some of the West.

Environment & Campus Setting

The Samiti is located in its own building since 1975 within the campus of Osmania University.

It is in the vicinity of institutions of various disciplines, providing an ideal atmosphere to pursue learning and offering the distinct advantage of attracting youngsters toward the Samskrit language.

The Samiti has conducted short-term courses at different levels. Persons from different walks of life and all age groups have benefited through these courses.

Certificates are issued to persons who have successfully completed the courses, and this continuous learning programme is actively maintained.


Research Expansion Proposals:

The Samiti proposes to expand its academic activities to the level of research in various fields, with special emphasis on treatises in relevant subjects in Samskrit, working in association with renowned organizations at National and State levels.

To conduct monthly Gita Parayan & Spiritual descussions where participants are encouraged to speak & understanding in Samskrit on subjects of general interest.

To conduct competitive elocution and essay writing competitions in Samskrit to nurture literary skills in students.

Seminars on Classical Authors

To conduct seminars and meetings discussing works of master authors like Valmiki, Vyasa, Kalidasa, and Bhavabhuti.

To publish an annual issue covering year-long activities, maintain a library/reading room, and strengthen Indian culture.

Appeal to Support the Samiti

It is proposed to expand the activities of the Samiti. The infrastructure needs improvement. Earlier, the Samiti used to receive a small annual grant from the State Government besides generous support provided by Samskrit lovers.

Presently, the Samiti is not provided with any permanent grant from the State or Central Government or any Institution. It looks forward to the generous support of the public, philanthropists, and corporate bodies.

The General Body of the Samiti consists of members and patrons governed by a Management Committee of 15 members.
